Attacks on Sharam-El-Sheikh

I really don't know what to say......Anger, sadness, frustration are burning inside me in a way which I cannot describe.

83 Die in Car Bombs at Egyptian Resort

For those of you unfamiliar with the locations in the Middle East, Sharam El-Sheikh is a beach resort city in Egypt which is a popular destination for European and Middle Eastern tourists.

The victims of these bombings are both Christian AND Muslim. I just want one answer from those who are naive enough to believe that killings like this occur because of "US Foreign Policy" or "Western Imperialism". Those who believe that they are safe from crimes of humanities such as this because their country didn't take part of the Iraq War, or that they marched in a "Anti-War" protest, or because they preach "tolerance" with Islam:

If these fuckers are killing their own fellow Muslims, the very people whom they expect support from and whom they claim to speak on behalf of, the very same people who they claim are fighting for...What makes you think they're not gonna come after you or your own countrymen?

PLEASE explain it to me.

I know this is not the first terrorist attack in Egypt (understatement) but I wonder -- and I never seem to be able to find it in any reports -- what is the justification the terrorists use for attacking Egypt?
If Muslim countries are too sacred for western armies -- as you say -- you'd think they were also too sacred for bombing fellow Muslims.

Just re-read my comment. It reads that you say Muslim countries are too sacred for western armies. It should read that you say - they are too sacred for bombing fellow Muslims.
Sorry.

Its too complicated to explain (I will try to explain it in future posts.)

But the long and short of it is: If your not fighting with them...than your against them. (And people criticize Bush 's view *sigh*)

Hi there:

I just found your blog by going to Iraq the Model. I'm looking for new blogs because my regulars have been overrun with hotheads calling for "glassification" of the middle east and sufferers of BDS who believe that there was no terrorism anywhere in the world before Bush became president. So I'm looking for voices that fall in the middle.
As a 43-year-old American who grew up thinking that nuclear holocaust was around the corner, I want to say DON'T GIVE UP. Go ahead and feel anger, frustration and fear because those are reasonable reactions to this shit, but despite everything you're reading, the terrorists are losing. There are now anti-terrorim marches in Muslim nations. Unbelievable! There are now anti-terrorism petitions on Arab blogs that include Israelis as terror victims. Incredible! The world is changing as fast as it did in 1989-1992, during the fall of Communism. We are at the beginning of the Islamic Reformation, the Great Liberation of millions of Muslims worldwide. Dictatorships will fall, and state-sponsored terrorism will be a thing of the past. It may get pretty rough, but this is nothing compared to the Cold War. I also lived through Vietnam, when the White House was guarded by soldiers with machine guns and domestic terrorists were setting off bombs left and right.
Hang tough. This too shall pass.

C-A, I think their justification for attacking Egypt is that they don't view it as truely Islamic, ie. not one that follows fundamentalist Islam (it's a somewhat secular gov't).

HAHAHA I love your blog. I finally got around to looking at it. I will be adding a personal link to your blog from mind. I wish more Muslims were like you. I wonder if I will still be labeled racist? Maybe the left will start calling you racist??? I applaud you for speaking out against the nonsense that seems to find it's way into a disproportioned amount of Muslims heads. For the record I'm don't have a thing against Muslims. I have a thing against terrorists (even Christian ones i.e. IRA) and the social behavior of some Muslims (i.e. Honour Killings etc). Problem is nobody can tell the good ones from the bad ones.

Sincerely

however, don't forget that these attacks are making the transition towards secularism from fanatical fundamentalism in the Muslim countries. For instance, in Pakistan, people are getting annoyed at these suicide bombers.

Tom W: Thank you for your kind words. I agree that reformation is underway, but it still has a far way to go. The challenge is to not stray form this.

The Fallen:

Believe it or not, I HAVE been called a racist whenever I debate someone from the Liberal-Left, however that's BEFORE I tell them my background.

Arnab:
I agree with you...cool blog bTW. :)
