Hey! That's me!

I can honestly say that I can identify with Adean's latest cartoon:

Only:
1. I don't play Golf.
2. I'm not married.
3. And most of my relatives live overseas.

Do you keep in contact with your family overseas? If so, what are their feelings about what is going on in the middle east these days?

I have already contacted my MP, Peter MacKay and the Afghan Ambassador regarding this very important human rights issue. I hope many people do, this should not go overlooked.

I had already read about the Ambassador's remarks regarding the Activists but when I watched the evening news (CBC & CTV) there was no mention of it at all. That was pretty disappointing. Canadians should have been informed via the Ambassador just what is happening over there, changes being made and how the people feel about Canadians being there.

Yeah of course I keep in contact with my family. I should clarify that I meant immediate family (Parents, Brothers, Sister). Well...they're pretty close to my views in regards of opinion. Its difficult to explain ...they don't like the current rulers, they don't like the religious hardliners, but at the same time they don't view exactly view they don't think the Bush doctrine is the right kind the west should use, but at the same time they think the current leaders must go and change should occur, but up to date they haven't really told me of a different method that could be used.

Thanks for the reply AK. I had thought cousins, aunt, uncles, more distant.

It would be so great if more middle east countries adopted a moderate approach and the world could "play nice" with each other. The idealist in me still lives. Besides, I would really like to visit them some day, always have. They should consider more tourism as an economic issue in many of those places. China is a place I will shun until they acknowledge human rights.

May your family always be safe and free wherever they are.
